Welcome to Bede Academy. We are a Christian ethos all through (3-18) provision in Blyth, Northumberland. Since opening in 2009 we have remained committed to playing our part in providing transformative character education for the whole community. We seek to create opportunity for our students through traditional and innovative curriculum pathways which enable them to secure lives of opportunity. All that we do is rooted in, and inspired by, the life and teaching of Jesus, and ultimately, his promise of “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). 

Our vision has three core aims: excellence in character development, learning across the curriculum and service to our community.  

At Bede Academy character development is central to our approach.  Who we are becoming is valued just as highly as what we achieve.  This is equally applicable to every member of our community, not just our students.  We were one of the first secondary schools nationally to be awarded the Character Kitemark Plus in recognition of our work to date.   

Our curriculum is carefully designed and expertly delivered to ensure that it is genuinely transformative.  Through a knowledge-rich curriculum, a wide range of enrichment opportunities and innovative curriculum pathways, we take students beyond their own experience to inspire them to secure fulfilling destinations and to live lives of purpose.  

We take our civic responsibility seriously and seek to serve our community.  We do this in acts of service, creating opportunities for students to make a tangible contribution.  We do this in partnership with organisationsand charities across Blyth to further strengthen our collective offer.  We also do this strategically seeking systemic change to ensure all students have equitable access to opportunity.
