The Northumbria Healthcare Manufacturing and Innovation Hub in Seaton Delaval have been instrumental in supporting the development of our brand new T Level in Health course at Bede Academy. Through close cooperation, both organisations understand and see the value in developing our cutting edge Health facility on site at the academy, which will open in September 2024. Northumbria Healthcare have donated surplus equipment which will ensure our ward will be appropriately equipped and of a high fidelity, allowing our students real hospital environment training and education during their two year T Level course. This collaboration has been developed thanks to our partnership with Northumbria University and we hope that the strong bonds will only develop further now with Northumbria NHS Trust. As part of the donation, we have received electric beds, patient chairs and a host of other equipment which will help us massively at the academy.
Our T Level in Health lead, Natalie Winchester, met with the NHS Northumbria Facilities Team at the Seaton Delaval Hub on Monday 20th May for the formal hand over and donation of the equipment on behalf of the Trust. A special thanks goes to Rosie Sexton NHFM People and Engagement Lead, Collette Cunningham Deputy Director, Ian Garrett General Manager and Stuart Ford warehouse manager as well as the delivery team on the day.
