Value your Well-being & Each Other: Staying Safe – Anti-Knife Crime

In today’s Personal Development time, Year 9 received important advice on the dangers of knife crime. Tragically, knife crime is a national issue and while Northumberland may not face the full severity of the problem, it requires awareness to keep it that way and any victim of knife crime is one victim too many. This session, therefore, used educational resources from Northumbria Police to help our young people understand:

  1. that carrying a knife increases danger not protection
  2. the legal consequences of carrying a knife
  3. the personal consequences of knife crime: for victim, families, communities and the perpetrator.
  4. how to stay safe, report concerns and find support

Our aim is to be part of a crucial conversation that will help keep our young generation and community safe.  We hope the following resources will help to continue this conversation at home.
