Following on from our Christmas service theme, “Light of the World”, our Easter Service looked at Jesus being our “Light in the World”. We were joined by guest speaker, Duncan Podbury from Newcastle Diocese, who reminded us of Jesus’ promise to bring us out of darkness (John 12v46). Alongside this message of encouragement, the Cantata Choir led musical reflections through a joyous performance of “He is Risen” and a powerful rendition of “The Power of the Cross”, whilst Sixth Formers Scarlett and Sarah sang a poignant duet of thanksgiving.
This communal moment was a wonderful way to mark the final morning of our Holy Week, which has helped us to reflect upon Christ’s hope of the resurrection.
